With a three-part, practical webinar series on cybersecurity, DAISEC, together with experts from the CISPA Helmholtz-Zentrums für Informationssicherheit (core partner in DAISEC) provides targeted support for the digitized HVAC trade in Baden-Württemberg.
In a total of three compact online modules, each lasting two hours, participants were given a structured overview of key areas of modern IT and production security—from prevention and vulnerability analysis to professional responses to security incidents.
The series was supplemented by a focused module on phishing defense and an excursus on the topic of cyber insurance as part of operational risk management. The trade union-specific perspective on the topic also offered particular added value. “Small and medium-sized HVAC companies in particular are under considerable time pressure, which makes concrete, immediately implementable protective measures all the more important,” explains our cybersecurity expert Dr. Oliver Wiese. “Our approach is pragmatic: we show how to close typical attack vectors, clearly define responsibilities, and act in an orderly manner in the event of an emergency.”
Feedback from participating associations and companies shows that there is a great need for this. Following the training courses, many companies have standardized their password policies, introduced multi-factor authentication, reviewed backup processes, and launched internal awareness programs. In doing so, they are making an important contribution to a culture of security in the skilled trades.
Outlook: DAISEC is planning new training dates for 2026 in collaboration with partners, particularly for business and trade associations. Interested organizations can now arrange appointments to discuss program design. The content will be tailored to the everyday work of the companies, ranging from introductory formats to in-depth workshops for operational teams and managers.
