On April 24 and 25, 2026, the North German Refrigeration Conference was held at the Norddeutschen Kälte-Fachschule in Springe—a two-day conference focusing on current regulations, standards, and developments in refrigeration technology.
DAISEC attended the event as a sponsor and, with its panel discussion titled “Cybersecurity, AI, and the Skilled Trades: How Do They Fit Together?”, brought to the agenda a topic of great concern to many businesses: What do cybersecurity and artificial intelligence actually mean for the skilled trades, and how can these topics be practically integrated into day-to-day business operations?
In addition to the presentation, DAISEC invited interested companies to actively participate in a pilot project. The focus is on introducing a secure password management system suitable for everyday use, with the goal of reliably managing login credentials for internal and external online services. In addition to improved password security, the project also aims to strengthen account security, for example through one-time codes or passkeys as additional or alternative login methods.
The 2026 Northern German Refrigeration Conference thus demonstrates how traditional professional development and cutting-edge digital topics are converging: In addition to technical and legal issues, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and secure digital operational processes are increasingly becoming a focus for the trade—and rightly so.
