The Municipality Burgwedel is pursuing an ambitious goal: greater independence in its energy supply through the expansion of renewable energies. Together with Energiegenossenschaft Burgwedel eG public buildings are being equipped with photovoltaic systems - but which buildings offer the greatest potential?
AI for smart energy decisions
When selecting the buildings, the municipality of Burgwedel was faced with the challenge of first identifying the most suitable buildings for equipping with PV systems so that it could optimise the use of its limited investment funds.
This is where DAISEC came into play: to enable the municipality to make informed decisions, the DAISEC experts developed AI-supported software that analyses geographical data, electricity consumption profiles and current weather information. With the results of the analysis, the municipality was able to precisely determine which buildings offer the greatest potential for a sustainable energy supply.
The result: maximum efficiency when selecting and equipping the buildings with photovoltaic systems. The smart solution ensures an economically viable implementation of the energy self-sufficiency strategy and makes an important contribution to Burgwedel's sustainable energy future.
Success model for other municipalities
The software developed by DAISEC is not proprietary and can also be used by other cities and municipalities pursuing a similar energy self-sufficiency strategy. Thanks to the flexible adaptation to new data sources, the system remains applicable in the future and supports long-term sustainability goals.
